So there's this donkey, 3-betting lightly... last time I saw him do it he had 66 and called down on AKQ flop/turn. Let's call him Barney. Seriously fish, just a little more aggro. Called down on one board with 42o after it was 3-bet preflop, he cold-called in BB, hit his 2 and called down. Just an idiot.
4-handed Preflop, Hero is on the Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 1 fold, Hero raises, Barny 3-bets, BB folds, Hero caps, Barny calls. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2-handed, 9SB) Barny checks, Hero bets, Barny calls Turn: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5.5BB) Barny checks, Hero bets, Barny raises, Hero?!?! I want some serious explanation on why you call or why you fold. I want to be convinced that what happened in real life was goot. |

I don't cap preflop. Generally I only cap preflop HU if I'm a huge favorite (and don't feel the postflop deception is worth a slowplay) or if I think it can generate postflop fold equity, here it's neither. And before someone says it, "To gain the betting initiative" is not a reason to cap.
On the turn, ugh. Has he done any semibluffing at all? That card brings 2 draws. |

So far, from what I've seen, he's mostly a call-down monkey who likes to 3-bet pairs, especially if there are a lot of people raising... but he has also bet strong draws before. To be honest, it is hard to put him on a hand just on how bad a player he is.

[/ QUOTE ] If I understand correctly he is not so aggro postflop but likes to call down lightly? If that's the case we can simply fold. If u consider him tricky and aggro u could check behind the turn. This sound stupid since we all know that giving a free card with a hand this vulnerable is a mortal sin. However since he will not fold any hand we can't protect. And since he will probably bet the river we get our bet back. What we miss is the chance to value bet twice. There was a good article about this in the 2+2 magazine called "The Turn Value Check With Position". They have removed it from the magazine but I still have it. I don't think I can post it? |

i don't know, you could be good, you could be bad.
sometimes i'll call down, sometimes i'll fold. usually it'll depend on how the last few hands went. am I up? am I down? have I made a stand lately and shown a good hand? have I made a stand lately and been beat? what has his c/r's meant thus far? i lean towards a fold right now. |

This guy sounds like your typical LPP. His latter street bets and raises usually are just what they appear to be. If I can trust your read I am folding to the turn C/R.
