Strange Spot Preflop with AKs
No reads and no stats, no idea how villain got his stack.
In a shorthanded game I'm more inclined to shove here ... mostly because I often don't believe open limps in MP. What line do you take considering this is full ring? Poker Stars No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.50/$1 8 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $193.90 UTG+1: $100 MP1: $104.70 MP2: $265.10 CO: $136.30 Button: $16.35 SB: $170.45 Hero: $100 Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 folds, MP2 calls, 3 folds, 3 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $5</font>, <font color="#cc0000">MP2 raises to $20</font>, Hero ... |

Re: Strange Spot Preflop with AKs
Is this full ring thing a new kind of delicacy?
Pardon my ignorance, but I don't see much difference given it's HU and you are OOP. I shove. With the dead money in the pot, it's +EV vs most PPs. If he has AA/KK, oh well. Anything else is destroyed. |

Re: Strange Spot Preflop with AKs
Yeah, you're raising $95 to win $105 if he calls. I think it might be more +EV to call and see a flop and push if you hit an A, K or a flush draw. Especially if player might call off some more after you hit (however unlikely this may be).
