I would prefer to go all-in pre. I'm not really a huge fan of calling and trying to hit a flop for a couple of reasons... it costs a good bit of your stack, and also being oop, you are going to check/fold the best hand on the flop very often, imo.

Pushing PF could be good, but the way you played is fine too.

Well, look at the stacks. RikkiDee is not stealing as first to act here too often IMO. His range should be fairly tight. He's only calling a shove with hands that have me dominated or racing, and nothing I dominate.

Well, I think is range for 'stealing' could actually be pretty wide. I mean, consider how tight everyone is likely going to be playing considering he has the table covered... I imagine he could raise/fold preflop here very profitably and not only that, but still have the chip lead the a lot of the times he has to fold. I mean obviously not super loose or anything, but maybe looser than some people think. And conversly, he should have a VERY tight calling range when you shove I think.

I mean I could def. be off here, but assuming the other 3 players are going to be calling / raising pretty damn tight, why should he have a tight stealing range?

you're definitely ahead of his range, i'd push pf.. the 2nd and 3rd place stacks are in the SB + BB, he knows you guys are going to be playing tight trying to outlast the Button.

I think this is a push preflop, for several reasons.

1) You are definitely ahead of his range. Since hes the big stack by a wide margin, hes gonna be raising a lot of hands. 22+, A9s+, AT+, KT+, QT+ are all in his range.

2) Since you are a 2+2er, hes going to give you respect for a big hand. He probbably will only call with 99+, AK, and since I KNOW hes such a big nit, thats probably going to be JJ+, AK.

3) Pushing will make you the NEW chip leader, albeit by a tiny bit. Id advocate pushing even more if the blinds were about to go up to 200/400, b/c rikki is just gonna pwn the bubble with any two, and you are gonna lose ALOT of chips. Dont worry too much about monsters under the bed, you are getting paid 25% addition to your stack for the risk you are taking here.

4) Oh Btw, as you played it, I would have probed bet 500 on the turn.

P.S. Rikki, I love you!

P.P.S. Sorry for the bad beat with Q8o. I still love you too suzzy.

mmm new thought...

c/r shove on this turn could be pretty good against a lot of 2p2.
