So he is a donkey, and donkey likes to mini-reraise with AA and KK. And he called your big pre-flop reraise. Let's hope he has AK and we have 1/3 of chance ahead.

You can use donkish bet if he is a true donkey. Bet $4.

Or you do your regular thing as if you have AA and bet $40. If he cold called your $40, you are probably way behind. And remember donkey can get monster hands too.

If he really is a donk...it's hard to tell given how small of a sample size. but don't over think it and just push.

Let say I do bet $40 here and he pushes over the top. I think it is painfully obvious that I am beat at that point, but it is only $40 or so more to call into a $170 pot. Is there any value in calling on the small chance he has JJ?

I suppose this exact scenario is why I should just be calling preflop and then using my position to keep the pot from getting out of control.

Bet 40 and call a push. He sucks and you have an overpair. Why all the angst?

You wish he had JJ. It might be worth it to spend an extra $40 to see if he is really a donkey. But you will have to win the money back later by using the $40 information.

At worst you still have 2 outs. And if he is just on a big draw like AdKd, it will be coin flip. You could call this just one time, and you have to make sure you could win the money back later from him.
