Default Statistical Survey: Bankroll Size

Hey guys, I'm just doing some thinking and stuff concerning bankroll management. I decided that I would post a survey that might be of interest to some of you, and to others it may not be interesting at all. Either way, I would like to please ask anyone who reads this to take the 10 seconds it takes to respond.

I'll define bankroll size so there is no confusion. Some say it's only the amount you have online, and some say its all the money you own. But I think that most agree that it's the amount of money you currently posses, weather in your bank or in some sort of online account, that you are willing to gamble with. If you have $5,000 but you will quit poker forever if you lose $4,000 you have a $4,000 bankroll (and not a $5,000 bankroll because you are unwilling to gamble that last $1,000). That's just an example I'll leave it up to you guys to decide for yourself what your current bankroll is.

Convert that number into a number of buyins, and that's the statistic I am concerned about.

Thanks for your time.

50+ according to your definition. If you discount reloading the online funds if I busto, it's about 29 BI.

At the moment, ~15, as I'm taking a shot at NL100. I'll drop to NL50 if it gets bad.

21-25 at the second, hopefully it'll be more by the end of the day. Can't see myself staying at the same limit with a 50 buyin roll.

I made the switch to NL in August, so I am not as far along as these ballers. I have ~25 buyins for NL100, but I still play a little bit of NL50 when playing in MTTs at the same time.

Also, I have been wondering this. Do you guys "share" your bankroll between SSNL and MTTs and SNGs (if you play them)? I have 2.5K for NL100, but I play MTTs up to $20 buy-in on the side with the same roll. If I hit a downswing, I drop in both games. If I hit a big tourney win, though, I don't automatically go up, as it would be a comfort level thing at that point.

use it for both. I play on a move up when happy rather than move up when rolled ideal.
