This is a newbie question.
I'm used to playing online, and topping off my stack in a capped nl game anytime it gets below a few BB short of the max buy-in. I was playing in AC this past weekend and I wasn't sure how often was acceptable to reload. Obviously I don't want to slow the game down or annoy the other players, so I was only rebuying if my stack dropped by about 50bb (in a 150bb buy-in max game). Is this ok, should I be reloading less, can I reload more without pissing everyone off? How far would you generally go down before rebuying? |

get a bunch of extra chips at the cage, of various denominations, and pull them out of your pocket to reload. It is rude to slow down the game by repeatedly buying chips from the dealer.

Yep, I just keep one buy in on the table and like half a buy in my pocket and keep setting them on my stack as soon as i feel it's to low. You don't wanna miss that time when you get your whole stack in there.

I reload everytime below 70 bbs...BUT only at a "stop" in the game, like a dealer change, OR when the chip runner is right there etc.

I agree with keeping them in your pocket. Also, use those chips to tip the dealer, pay for food, etc. This is even more important when you're above the max buy-in.

stop losing pots and you won't have to reload.
but seriously - the chips in the pocket thing works well, but even if you need to buy them directly from the dealer, it's no big problem esp if you got a $100 bill and say "just four greens pls" true it slows the game down an eedle bit... but who can really complain when more money is added to the table? Are you gonna be more upset with a nit who takes 45 seconds on every street, or a decent player running bad constantly putting more money on the table? I'm for the more money. |

If cash doesn't play I keep a 1/2 stack of green or 3 or 4 black chips in my pocket.
Also, I don't do anything like hiding blacks or greens but I avoid making it obvious that I'm staying around the max buy in. |
