It\'s Me Versus Me, not my Opponents
I seem to have reached this sticking point in my poker education where the only thing impeding my progress is myself.
It's like I've hit a "mental brick wall" that is stopping me making the correct decisions. And it's F****** Me off! But in my favour: I have good BR Management skills- I always stick to the 300BB rule- and always step down when I reach a threshold- but this has meant that I'm constantly stepping down- grinding-stepping up-losing- repeat, repeat. And I'm only playing at the nano's. Clocked up 20K hands on the 3 lowest limits on Stars. Ian |

Re: It\'s Me Versus Me, not my Opponents
Save some money and play again when you can afford 0.50/1.00.
Under that is practically play money conditions and therefor totally unpredictable. A 10/30 dollars bankroll is not bankroll, it's lunch money at Mc.D's. If money is the problem, the best thing for you to do is to play freerolls until you hit something, then start bonus whoring. When you have those $500/600 you'll be on track. Stories of people moving up all the way from 0.02/0.04 belong in "good night stories books". No advice will help you. |

[/ QUOTE ] This whole post is terrible, I can't believe you're saying this stuff in light of how long you've been here. Maybe it's third level I dunno. OP, micros are perfect for you right now. That is exactly how I did it. I deposited $150 lost down to $35 or so and worked it up from micros by using good BR management. Unpredictable micros? Of course! But it just doesn't make sense to say that players are so bad they're unbeatable. If you have to support poker with another job, you don't have a bankroll. You have a budget. Bonus whoring is good though. Overall you have the right attitude. Good luck. |

[/ QUOTE ] In addition to what the above poster said, if the OP is having a problem with making incorrect decisions, it's not going to be very helpful at all to play freerolls. Surely these freerolls are more unpredictable than micro limits, and the strategies he would have to apply to do well in the freerolls could hurt his game more than help given his current situation. |

Re: It\'s Me Versus Me, not my Opponents
Well, just to respond to your posts, I know many ppl who started with 5$ (I'll spell it: five US dollars) and ended
up (for the time being) being winning NL $100 to NL $400 players. So your saying "Stories of people moving up all the way from 0.02/0.04 belong in "good night stories books". is basically so not true. |

Re: It\'s Me Versus Me, not my Opponents
Start running hot is the key, personally I started off with 50$ and ran hot for a while. Lost most of it and now I'm up to ~1900$ from grinding (and learning HOW to play), I grinded this up from NL5. So its possible. Good luck for sure, if you have bankroll management your already one step ahead of your opposition.
