Key hand in $109 FTOPS satellite -
OK, playing in the $109 FTOPS satellite where top two get entry into all the NLHE events. started w 28 down to final nine. Been at the FT about one rotation so no real reads but villain hadnt played a hand.
Currently second in chips but a long way to go. No real notables at the table and play was average at best in the tourney. Is this the right place to race given the need to get in the top two, and the pot odds? Think its a no brainer but just want a line check - believe both the stretegic and pot odds line up here but? Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t120/t240 (Ante: t25) 9 players Converter Seat 1: Hero (15,308) Seat 2: (1,995) Seat 3: (13,573) Seat 4: (3,233) Seat 5: (7,355) Seat 6: (4,810) Seat 7: (24,021) Seat 8: Villain (9,480) Seat 9: (4,225) Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is BB with Q♣ K♣ 6 folds, Button raises to t700, SB folds, Hero calls t460 (pot was t1285). Flop: 9♣ 7♦ 2♣ (t1745, 2 players) Hero bets t1745, Button raises all-in t8755, |

Re: Key hand in $109 FTOPS satellite -
If villain has been tight and is capable of having AA-QQ here, fold seems reasonable.
Otherwise easy call, especially with top-heavy structure. |

Re: Key hand in $109 FTOPS satellite -
Obviously the villain COULD have AA-QQ here, but I'm not convinced you are even behind here. Your flop bet looks like a Stop & Go, so yeah, call.
I also might look at check-raising if you think he'll c-bet his whiffed overs. |

Re: Key hand in $109 FTOPS satellite -
yea - thought about the c/r but had just done that 4 or 5 hands before - plus was happy just to take it down and figured an 80% chance i would right there

Re: Key hand in $109 FTOPS satellite -
When the structure is this top heavy, even though you already have a reasonably nice stack, you should take this gamble for sure. This becomes even easier if the table is allowing to to steal a lot and not playing back at you...
