I'm skeptically pumped for this. I can see it failing miserably by being far too romantic/far too absurdist/whatever...

I am definitely excited for The Fountain though..I think above all else at this point.

I have been honing my skills at judging movies based upon pre-release marketing, and i've been batting .1000 for about a year now. I'm thinking this will at least be a Great movie (I only use 'great' when talking about truly memorable cinematic experiences) and I have a feeling that this will exceed that and become our generation's 2001.

I'm afraid it will end up like The Thin Red Line, though. Disjointed, and reaching farther than it can hold onto.

I was disappointed that this movie wasn't attached to Saw III when I went to see it. For some reason, days later, I still haven't looked up the trailer online despite finding out info about it from IMDb. And now I'm tired and going to read before bed....so I shall get to it tomorrow.

Nice to know I'm not the only one anticipating it though.

I've been anticipating the Fountain since 5 or 6 years ago when I read the first script review and it had Brad Pitt attached to it. There's no way in hell it lives up to the movie I've had that long to construct in my head, but I'm still jacked up for it. The screening a couple weeks ago here at the Chicago Film Festival sold out literally minutes before I tried to buy tickets. [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]
