Overdoing the "Hey, I'm PC" Thing...

One of my friends was back in town last weekend and his old housemate is this really cute girl named Danu, we went to some party at one of her friends house on Saturday night. As we walked in the door i noticed a giant banner hanging from staircase to wall that read, "THIS HOUSE DOES NOT TOLERATE ANY DISCRIMINATION ON THE BASIS OF RACE, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, OR ANY BIGOTRY IN GENERAL".

The people at this party were kinda lame, but they had a million pumpkins to carve, so we all carved one and while we were sitting there, my friend and i talked about how obvious the sign was. Santa Cruz is one of the most tolerant cities towards these things in the United States. we decided that this sign was just silly and existed only to show off how "cool and liberal" the occupants of the house were. I just dont see how they thought the sign was necessary in the slightest way. It seemed really cheap and transparent and i dont get how others at the party didnt think the same thing. what would you have thought upon seeing this sign?

I would assume that the chick who put up this banner was fat and/or ugly and that this is her way of lashing out at a world that really doesn't give as much of a crap about race and/or sexual orientation as much as it does physical appeal and net-worth.

I would also suspect that the fat, pathetic, insecure c*nt who put up this banner thinks non-white, non-straight Americans are so inferior that somehow she has to come to their defense.
