Default . . .Time for A River Value Bet?

This is from the $22+2 double stack PLO on FullTilt. I have no reads on the players having just moved to the table. Should I have called or folded or raised on the turn? I have a few players behind me so I think an argument can be made for each case (I may be wrong). Is anyone value betting this on the river???

Given the action in front of you I like a raise on the turn. If called and you miss obv a check on the river. As played I think you have to check behind or throw out a small bet ~ t400 or so to get value from worse 8s, but it's thin.

w/out ank kind of read on player, its tough. alot of fish will bet ANY fh, therefore, your 3'8 to the Ace is prolly best, but tough to tell. i maybe fire 400-500.

I think this would be an exceptionally thin value bet, especially with no read on the player in question. Personally I think the check behind is fine.

The consensus seems to be that I should have bet (prob. somewhere around 400-500). Jeff said he would have bet pot. Jeff asks,"Would he really check-trap you there?"

It seems to be a common mistake that I make by not realizing the impetus to gather chips. I get that advice in this forum a lot and it is for sure correct. Next time I will keep this in mind. Thanks.

On the actual hand, my opponent showed AA in the hole.
