QJo in BB - 5:1 odds, easy call with any 2 Broadway?

Local B&M tourney, 120 runners down to 11 players (6 handed). 1st prize $4200, 10th $200, 11th $180.

Just lost over half my stack when my A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] lost a race to 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Blinds 3000/6000

Relevant Stacks:
UTG (t13,000)
Button (t22,000)
Hero (t14,000)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG raises to t13,000, 2 folds, Button calls t13,000,1 fold , Hero...???

This should be an easy call right? 5:1 odds with a shot to build stack for final table. The math is there but still ...it's QJo!!! [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img] I also felt Button just smooth called to suck me in.

OK, having said that, OP also says he just lost a race for more than half his stack. Which means he had probably at most 6BB before this hand, and this seems to be the norm, not the exception.
This structure is terrible.

Yah, these B&M tourneys become a real crap shoot at FT. This was at Bay101 Rebuy tourney:

In this hand, UTG had K7o, Button had AQo, domintaing my QJo. Flop was K, 6, 4 rainbow. No help on turn or river.
