The Limp Re-raise at 200NL
You're in the BB with JJ. UTG limps, table calls around, SB makes it 8 to go, you make it 25 with JJ, UTG makes it 55. Everyone folds.
Stacks are 250ish each. Do you call and c/r all-in an all undercard flop? Or do you fold? (Or take another line?) Basically, my question is at 200NL (Party), is the limp re-raise UTG from an unknown Villain AK, AQ, so some other garbage worse than JJ enough of the time to warrant going to the felt with this hand? Don't normally play this limit, so for those of you who do please help! |

Limp re-raise into a raiser and a re-raiser looks extremely strong to me. Unless you know UTG is some kind of maniac, you can comfortably fold.

Re: The Limp Re-raise at 200NL
I would say that a limp reraise of that size could easily mean AA/KK more often than AK or AQ. You don't normally see someone 3 betting preflop with anything worse than JJ. Don't get married to JJ on a flop of all unders.

Re: The Limp Re-raise at 200NL
In the lower N/L tables like 200 and down, the limp reraise is usually AA/KK. Everyone has read supersystem and likes the move. Not many 'deep' thinkers at this level. I wouldn't go to the felt preflop with this. A definate call though. ou need to call 30 into an 88 pot. ofcourse!

Re: The Limp Re-raise at 200NL
limp-reraising over 2 raisers means he almost certainly has a higher pair, QQ-AA. I would call for set value. c/fold even undercard flops. Even a flop like J-K-A isn't a very good one.

Fold PF. You do not have set odds.
LRR over a field of limpers+a raise and re-raise out of the blinds? He has you beat. |

Re: The Limp Re-raise at 200NL
7.5-1 to hit a set. 2.9-1 Immediate odds on the call.. that's a fold. But we need to consider the implied odds
If he gets paid of everytime he hits he's not just calling $30 to win $88 he's calling $30 to win $288, so $288-$30 (9.6-1) is a clear call. but in all reality he probably wont get paid everytime. Probably closer to 80-90% of the time. So we'll say 85%... that means he can expect to win an additional $170 if he hits (85% of $200, the remaining stack size of villian to clarify) so that means his odds are $258-$30 (8.6-1) again a clear call. Actually anything above 68.5% of his chips going on the flop makes this a +EV call. Edit - This is strictly only calling to flop a set and getting out of the hand if that doesnt come. |
