Hello friends, I have been playing poker live at casino's and house games for years now (about 4).
I have just put a little bit of money on for right now to see how it goes. I usually play 1-2,or 2-4 NL live and also play many MTT live and with my friends. I am experienced enough. Was wondering if any very experienced online players could maybe offer there first step stories, or just regular good old advice, on how to build it. The poker skill level is not in question becasue these lower limits are cake, but wondering what you would do if you were as expperinced as me, and put this little amount of money online Thank you Mr P |

Make sure you take full advantage of all possible offers before signing up at a site. Such as Sign up bonuses, rakeback or kickbacks from affiliates. PM me if you have other questions or don;t know what I'm talking about.

Definitely you need to check out the bonuses when you sign up.
I have found clearing the bonuses easiest at Limit ring games. I also have found that building on a smallish BR (like $300) is best done by playing $10 buyin or so NL SnGs. Another thing to keep in mind is that play at these low levels is loose and bad. So you likely have to adjust by bluffing less, value betting more, tightening up, etc. ABC poker is usually the way to go. And remember that these guys love any suited or connected cards so be prepared to lay down your cowboys or rockets when you get resistance on a coordinated board. |

You may be underestimating online skill levels. A 1/2 NL game online is substantially more difficult than the same game live in my experience. I'm not saying you don't have the skill to win, just to maybe play it safe for a while.
The main reason to play online is the lower rake (bonuses are a part of this), the convenience and the ability to play a larger number of hands through quicker play and multiple tables. There are still some really bad players, but you'll find yourself sharing the table with several players at least as good as you and a couple of fish rather than the typical live experience of a bunch of bad players and a couple of decent ones. |

Assuming you have a 1k+ bankroll I would still start with $25nl. Like people said, online is harder then the live games. I guess $200nl being the lowest game at te casino, it should be on par with $25nl.
And get pokertracker first before you do anything . I would go to fulltilt btw, and take advantage of the $600 signup bonus and 27% rakeback. |

What stakes of limit or NL would you suggest i start online with bonus clearing ?? thanks everyone who responded [/ QUOTE ] It depends on the site. Some sites have easy clearing, others don't. Some sites clear at a rake rate like 1 point per $0.25 of rake in hands you play. Others have a flat rate like 1 point per raked hand, regardless of the amount raked. Check with the site. So for example, at Paradise Poker, the rake is 5% and $.25 of rake is the minimum. Thus, I needed to be in a hand that has a pot of at least $5. I found that .5/1 Limit met this sometimes while 1/2 limit met this most times. Also there is usually quite a difference as to how tourney fees are applied to bonus clearing. |

Take advantage of all signup bonuses. Also check out casino bonuses. That should let you build a bankroll big enough to play some micro stakes comfortably. Also learn to play Omaha 8b. That game will have the lowest variance at the micro limits.
I started with a couple of deposits and lost both. Was down to $1 and played the penny games on UB. Worked my way up in levels and am now playing 15-30, 20-40 and 3-6 NL. |
