Default 99 vs tight raiser - theoretical question

MP is like 25/11/1.50 and opens
I hold 99 and 3-bet CO, others fold.

Flop QJ2 r - Check, I bet, call.

Turn 7 completing r - Check, I bet, c/r, I fold.

Easy enough. I fold to a river bet also if he's only calling.

But what's up with my turn continuation. I don't think it's valueable vs. his range. I never fold a better hand, there might be a semi- bluff, see myself behind a lot even on the flop, etc.

Would it be also OK to give a free card on the turn, calling a bet on blank on the river, folding to another broadway? Or is the line given above the "standard" and one shouldn't derivate from it.

This guy isn't the type to semi-bluff the turn. Plus his range doesn't have and big draws in it. He also isn't the type to auto-bet the river with nothing. So you need to bet the turn and protect your 9's from AK/AT.
