Default L@TB, river bluff.

For those of you who watch, Villain is Mo the host, easily one of the best players in the game and possibly one of the best TAG's I've played live against. This is about 30 mins into the session, I haven't really played any hands yet, so nothing of note. Effective stacks ~6k, 10/20 blinds.

Folded to him in CO and he makes it 50, Button folds, SB calls, I call 30 more in BB with 23o.

Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (~150)

Checked around.

Turn: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (~150)

SB checks, I pot it, Villain calls, SB folds.

River: A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (~450)

I check, he bets 300, I check-raise to 1300.

Thoughts?

this looks gross/disgusting/awful. you realize he has an ace right? no other hand makes any sense for him to play this way.

I put him on a medium Ace, correct. AT or something. You're saying it's an insta-call with any Ace?

You tried to bluff someone off trip aces on L@TB? And are we thinking of the same Mo here?

every time i've ever put someone on a hand like trips, and then tried to bluff them off of it, they beat me into the pot. just give up on this one. (oh and i assume you realize preflop is gross/disgusting)

For 1000 more, yes. For a weird overbet, maybe not. In his mind, though, he's trapped you, and now you're betting trip aces for value. Unless he's way on the small side, he's calling. Pre-flop is fine in general, but probably not worthwhile against an excellent player. It's not like it's burning money, though.
