MoneyBookers Joins Firepay in US Dropout

LINK MoneyBookers Joins Firepay in US Dropout The online ewallet provider, Moneybookers, will follow suit of Firepay which halted all gambling transactions for US stationed customers. The decision to stop all gambling transactions between MoneyBookers and gambling sites for US players came yesterday. Moneybookers is a UK based provider but says they will comply with US laws. No official press release has yet to be issued by Moneybookers. Players who logged into their account and tried to make a deposit into an online gaming site were denied. A pop-up now rears its ugly head saying, “US customers can not do business with Gaming sites.” The support team at Moneybookers also confirmed that their decision had been made and was active starting yesterday. Unlike Neteller, which many fear will close down to US gamblers shortly, Moneybookers is not publicly traded on the London exchange. Moneybookers works in a different way than Neteller. Similar to Paypal, Moneybookers uses email addresses for transactions. Paypal has not allowed gambling related transactions for years. One reason for the possible early closing of Moneybookers to US gamblers is because they are regulated by the FSA. There is a regulation by the FSA which states, “E-money issuing must be legally and operationally “ring fenced” from any other area of business risk”. Other ewallet providers such as Neteller, ewalletXpress, epassporte and Central Coin remain open to US gamblers. ClicktoPay is another provider that currently seems on the fence.

Western Union baby....... [/ QUOTE ] Don't keep your hopes up with Western Union. The Attorney General in Arizona is trying to get that company to freeze transfers of $500 and over going to Mexico. The Attorney General believes these funds are being used for human-smuggling operations. Point of the story is, now that Western Union had its IPO and is now public, they are going to become the Fed's bitch. They will be pressured into freezing funds being sent overseas if it suspected to be gambling related. Sure, these sites keep changing their contact info to trick Western Union, but it is just another hurdle that will keep the fish from playing.

It's worse than that in Arizona. The gov has a search warrant that allows them to seize the money of transactions that they believe are related to illegal activity.
This is money that's still in the United States, and under the $10,000 limit and all the other rules. For instance, they routinely grab amounts of about $2500 because that's the typical fee paid to a coyote. They grab your money, and then you have to prove you had a legitimate reason for the transfer to get it back. (Guilty until proven innocent, in other words.) http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepu...transfers.html Since the government can do this, they can grab any Western Union money that's going anywhere near a gambling site. And you'll have to prove it's not going to a gambling site to get your money back.
