Re: Valuebet or check behind?
I would make a bet of about 7-8 here.
If he has A6 so be it. You beat too many other hands. |

Re: Valuebet or check behind?
You can't fold for 8.85 more.
I mean, you could. But I don't think you should. |

Re: Valuebet or check behind?
So actually by betting 7.5$ I risk 7.5+8.85, and I will only win 7.5$ more when I have the best hand, and lose 16.5$ when he he has me beat.

Re: Valuebet or check behind?
I like the check behind. Villain has only 16 left on the river, so I probably push or check. I think Raiseren came up with a very good point here.

Re: Valuebet or check behind?
Hi Riaseren1!
This really is an easy check. Against a reasonable player, You will never win money here by betting, because the bets suggested by the other "advisors" will lead to a fold most of the time from Your opponent, if he is beaten. If Your opponent has one pair beat, he will raise Your bet by whatever amount. To make things worse, a bet gives Your opponent room for bluffing by reraising all-in. Do You want to call that with just 1 pair or do You want to make up Your mind here, wether he is bluffing or reraising with a real hand? In fomer times, I lost a lot of money in these situations when I decided to bet these kind of pots and I lost by far more money on these ocassions than I won. Don't do it. Let the other guys loose their money on these occasions. Make a save check, and if You win the pot, take the money and be happy. To win something like $7 with a pair of queens isn't that bad. If You loose, be happy, too. Because Your opponent tried to set up a trap that didn't work against You, instead it would have worked nicely against all the weak bettors! Best regards eigenvalue |

Re: Valuebet or check behind?
*grunch*
I think this one depends totally on the opponent (well then again most hands in poker do). If he is the very loose passive type that will just check-call down with bad hands, say A with a bad kicker, then you can value bet it. No draws seem to have completed. On the other hand, if he is either a good player or a bad aggressive player, he has probably either drawing or this might even be some kind of a tricky slowplay. If he was drawing, he won't call your bet. You are offered a cheap showdown so take it. |
