you open ten sites with entirely different names but in the same category (like catsrus.com, catsfood.com, cathotels.com, catsfashionshow.com, you get the idea) and fill all of them with the exact same contenT. in fact, they all look alikE. how would you make this worK? what are the pros and conS? |

Google will only serve up one site with duplicate content.

Getting traffic is more important than content. If you are getting more traffic as a result of having 10 sites rather than 1, then it is a fine idea. If having 10 sites that are all the same just causes you to focus less on each individual site, then it may not work out as well as you hope.

3 words you should learn:
Duplicate....Content...Penelty. Try this and all of your websites will fail. Google finds duolicate content and throws you to the bottom of the barrel. |

Even if you mange to fool google by changing the content just enough, I still think you are better off with 1 site for the following reasons.
1)Organic linking will be spit over 10 pages, thus lowering your place on non-paid searches. 2)How could you drive a customer to one site if you couldn't drive him to another site? 3)If you drive a customer to multiple sites, will this do you any good? |
