Default NL $0.50/$1 live

Okay, I'm finally ready to ask the board on this one.

Tropicana, Las Vegas. First day of my US holiday, probably driving out of Vegas tomorrow. I have $200 that I "don't mind" losing at poker.

I've just spent 2-3 hours in another casino playing spread limit holdem and made a loss of like two dollars.

I sit down at the $0.50/$1 NL table, and because I'm a big pussy I only buy in for $100.

Fold a couple of hands. Then this one:

UTG or UTG+1 (sorry, memory is vague) raises to $10 - a massive over-raise, but I have no reads on him whatsoever. Folds to me. I look down at a pair of jacks.

Your action here?

To be continued...

Edit: I'm the button or CO.

Live play $10 is most likely the table standard. Are youi sure this was 50 cent/dollar? I thouigh teh lowest game the trop spread was 1/2.

With JJ and position I repop to $30 and get it AI on any non-Ace flop.

What's his stack size? I 3-bet and make it to 30. The problem w/ playing w/ a short-stack is that you'll probably have to get it all in preflop or on the flop anyways and JJ isn't that great of a hand to do it with.

I think you're right about the stakes, I just remember I was short stacked. Scale everything up by 2.

$100 at NL 1/2 would be criminal, right?

Gawd, my memory is terrible.

Good. I did precisely that, and got busted. I thought my play was okay (except buying in short, which was awful) but my mate thought it was terrible.

Then I brought in my remaining $100 of course, and did much better.

Live play is much looser... had QQ in the small blind with 5 limpers on 1/2NL at Foxwoods. I raise 8x to $16 and everyone called. Flop came 4 2 10 I bet $50 and dude called me all in with a pair of 2s.

The raiser could just have 1 ace. Reraise to 30 and see what happens or push and rebuy if you are unlucky.
