Young Ipod wearers, How much grief to you catch from old NITS?
A recent episode at Caesar's IN has me wondering if young guys wearing sunglasses and Ipods catch a lot of flack from old NITS or old poops.

I listen to my iPod at the Borg while playing 1/2NL. I get no flack.
I just have one bud in my left ear. I hear all the action in my right ear, so I'm not holding up the game or anything. No one really notices, I don't think.

i wear an ipod while playing and nobody says anything... if you get old men talking trash then you then you probably give off the vibe of having no balls to say anything back

i dont wear an ipod, baseball hat, or sunglasses and I often get flack. Usually it comes from middle aged to older guys trying to intimidate me. Most of the comments have to do with the fact that I could pass for a 19 year old. By the end of the session I often have the respect of most of them. (I don't get intimidated and often fire back in a good natured manner)

I have never gotten any grief. I have to wear a ipod because of how slow and boring live full ring poker can get. Sunglasses are a bit much though.

sunglasses are different than ipods. I use my ipod (often with 1 earbud only) just to fight boredome/b/c I enjoy music.
sunglasses are purely functional.

I am not young, don't own an Ipod and have only worn sunglasses at the table once. I wear prescription sunglasses and I got all the way to the poker room before I realized I was still wearing my sunglasses.
the incident that got me wondering happened Tuesday. We started an O/8 game and the second hand, this 50ish guy went off on a young guy. Jumped all over him because, "Anybody under 25 thinks they are God's gift to poker so just sit there listening to your Ipod with sunglasses and quit being an [censored]!" he said a bunch more, it was a great speech. I spoke up in the kid's defense because he sat next to me earlier in the $10-20 Holdem game and he was a nice guy. I just couldn't figure how that guy got so mad so quickly. So I started wondering if all young guys caught flack at the poker table.

Harrah's in Kansas City has had an iPod ban forever so there is no opportunity
I would put an ear bud in one ear just to piss off a nit

Sunglasses and an ipod are a world apart. I have occasionally given a player a gentle ribbing for wearing sunglasses, but I've mostly played low stakes limit live, so you don't see a lot of em.
I started going bald at 17 and just started wearing a ball cap out of habit. I'm less self-conscious now, but I'm use to the cap, and nobody's ever bothered me about it.
