Recommend a scooter
I'm shopping for a scooter for my girlfriend for use in San Francisco.
I'm planning on buying used, and I'd like to spend 500 - 1500. Just needs to be reliable, maybe nice looking, and have adequate performance. What should I look for? Will I be able to find that within my price range? Any specific size/model recommendations? |

Re: Recommend a scooter
get at least a 150cc, don't get the 50cc, or you will wind up pushing it up the hills.

Re: Recommend a scooter
Don't lie, you know you're buying a moped for yourself.
[ QUOTE ] Any specific size/model recommendations? [/ QUOTE ] Proble nothing bigger than 46-34-42. Mopeds are like fat chicks, they are fun to ride untill your friends see you. |

[/ QUOTE ] Spend more and get a Stella before they are wiped off the market. Stellas are the classic Vespas manufactured with high performance parts. Unfortunately Genuine Scooters has canceled this very popular line, I don't know why but I would assume its due to infringement on Vespa's intellectual property. Even if you don't get a Stella, consider going through General's parent company - Scooterworks in Chicago for a vintage Piagio bike. Vintage bikes require a lot of tender love & care, so its not necessarily the best option for a new rider unless she wants to become a scooter nut. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |
