30/60 on party from the other day. Tight, solid player opens from early mid position and 2 bad players cold call. I call in the big blind with T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Flop falls J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I check, original raiser bets, 2 calls and I raise. All call. 4 see the turn for ~8 big bets. Turn 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet, only the preflop raiser calls. 2 to the river for ~10 big bets. River A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. This a check/fold? |

Yes. You're only ahead of 88/99 now and they shouldn't make it that far.

I think the odds of villain playing 88 or 99 in this manner are really small. I am more worried about KJs or QJs, because if he always raises with these hands preflop and bets them on the river its a call, if he never plays them this way its a fold, but it is probably somewhere in the middle. Thoughts?

Yeah I did the same thing, and after thinking about it more think it is definitely a fold. Especially considering he will always bet the hands I am behind, but often check the hands I beat. Thanks for taking the time to think of hand ranges as well, that is what I was primarily checking, since sometimes I run into the problem of assigning "solid" players my range and then being surprised by how wrong I was. At least lately.
