Gonzo jumps out. I thought Bonds would be at the top, but missing most of last year and a lot of 99 hurt.
Chipper's been hurt a ton, too, but it coincides with his peak. 99 was such an awesome year. |

Both Jeter and A-Rod surprise me here. I thought Bonds would be comfortably out in front.

Delgado suprises me too, but I wonder how many other guys might have topped him (and some others) if not for injuries.
It would interesting to see the top 25, with games played beside them. |

Amazing that he missed an entire season and large portions of others and still ends up third. He probably wins by 200+ if he plays last year.

Re: Most Times on Base in the Last Ten Years
I guess I'm somewhat surprised about ARod being ahead, but Jeter = 700 plate appearances a year.

Re: Most Times on Base in the Last Ten Years
"if not for injuries."
I guess that's the point I was trying to make (as well as to provoke general discussion). Staying healthy and in the lineup day in and day out makes you a valuable commodity to your team. Give me a guy who's going to get on base 2,500 times over the next ten years and I'll take my chances with him. |
