Default EXCEL EXPERTS- please help!

I'm doing my older brothers homework on excel, and having some trouble. It's so simple but I can't figure it out.

I'm doing equations in it for some statistic class, and need to put a header on it. How do I do that? Do I just format the cells? I also have to add a bottom border to colums. Format the cells again? Either post here, or if you can get on AIM im xdirtysock09x

thanks!

if youre trying to just combine like the cells at the top of a table, to make like one wide cell covering three columns or four or whatever then:
selected those cells and use the merge cells function.

if you dont have the shortcut to the merge cells on your toolbar, then:
rightclick your toolbar, choose customize, choose commands tab, choose format, find the merge cells function, drag it to your toolbar.

Use "center across selection" as alignment instead of merge. Much less of a pain if you want to copy/paste or make changes later.

Alright, another stupid question...

I merged the cells, but need to write some things into all of them. How do I do that?

Another thing I have to do says : "Add a bottom border to the column to the column titles in row 3" Doesn't say how to though.
