Default Chicago resorts NL Tournament

I was planning on playing on the tues $175 freezeout tournament at Resorts near chicago. This is my first tournament...I have played a few cash games and SNG's at Majestic Star 2. anyone have any comments or helpful hints for this tournament?

small starting stack, blinds moveing up really fast, bla bla bla... You gotta get lucky...

However most people suck there and think Q7s is the nuts.. So I would suggest playing a solid straightforward game and push your big hands hard

Even the most superficial understanding of tournament situations will give you a leg up on this crowd. Keep an eye on your stack size and push hard to double up when it gets small relative to the blinds. In the middle levels, people there will nurse stacks whose Harrington metric is less than 3, that have no chance at all of making the money. These same people will make fun of you for open-pushing three times per orbit with the same kind of stack. Ignore the rabble. Enjoy the experience; if you get a little lucky, you might cash.
