Default Size of images posted in threads

I just left a thread that had a pic 999 pixels wide. (I copied and verified) On my 19" screen, the slider bar position was about 2/3 over. Moving back and forth to read the posts is a big, annoying pain in my backside.

I'd like to add something to the Collective Wish List for the long-awaited/eagerly anticipated software upgrade: Automatic pic re-sizing.

Barring that, can we "strongly insist" posters re-size pics before posting?

if you put the poster on ignore, the pic goes away.

Auto resizing would be great. Not sure how software could do that with external links though.

Or at least set a maximum size.

Thanks, guys. I know I can do that. I'd just rather not have to:
- go to my Home Page
- put someone on Ignore
- go back and read the thread
- go back to my Home Page
- take the poster off Ignore
- go back to reading threads
- God forbid somebody doesn't post a reply and Quote the whole damned thing so when I'm back in that forum and see an unread post it's back to square one. For two posters this time.

I was irritated when I put up my OP, yeah. It seemed like a good idea - if it's possible. I still like the idea - if it's possible. I still want it on my Christmas list. Along with the pony I never had. mmmm-kay?

click the posters name, click ignore this user, hit back twice, it is pretty easy. Then when you read something else from the user do the same thing, click the posters name, click unignore user, hit back twice. Not very hard.

Thank you, sir. I just tried it and no, it's not hard and only a very minor bother. "Problem" resolved. I'll now move on.

I still want my pony, dammit!
