Mom had a heart attack last night

she was complaining about chest and shoulder pain earlier in the day, we thought nothing of it. at around 7pm she yelled at me to call 911, and when i went upstairs she was passed out. we rushed her up to the nearest hospital, who then transferred her to another hospital. they did immediate surgery on her ... one of her arteries of w/e was blocked and they put 3 stints in it to open it up. they said if she got there any later she probably would have died. shes doing alright right now, I'll spend a few hours tonight up there. What was so freaky about this is she never had heart problems before, and is only 46 years old. It's really scary something like this could happen so suddenly. I was sick to my stomach the few hours last night i was up there, and got no sleep last night. although i hate go give the corny line, it really puts things into perspective.

not sure why i posted this, i guess i just needed to vent and maybe to talk to people who have gone through similar experiences.

Hey. Doing the right thing, being there for her, man, make her happy. There's no need to hold her hand, though. Take a little more time, take her a few places she loves and most importantly, spend the time with her.

Have her know you appreciate her. Sounds like ya do, just show her that a bit more.

im glad she is doing ok.

my dad has been through 2 heart procedures. its so important to take any chest pain/angina seriously and get them to the hospital right away. better safe then sorry. a few bucks for a wasted hospital visit is no big deal compared to death.

Wow, 46 seems pretty young to me to have blocked arteries. Since you say she's never had heart problems before, did the doctor say why this happened all of a sudden?
