Default Stars 10.00 Tourney: Do you like my pre-flop push w/ 77?

Hi All,
I wanted to get opinions, regarding my pre-flop push. Here's some pertinent info:

- There are about 70 players remaining; top 18 pay
- My stack is well below average, though my M is at 7.5
- I've been playing extremely tight; mainly because I've been card dead
- UTG is 70/0/2.5 after 30 hands. He likes to limp into alot of pots, and take small stabs after the flop. He may also continue to bluff the turn & river, when checked to.
- The table seems loose-passive, with little raising pre-flop

Though I couldn't know for certain, I was inclined to believe (or perhaps hoping) that I'd be racing if I went all-in. I'd expect UTG to raise a bit less with a stronger hand.

Even if I'm correct about being up-against 2 overcards, do you like my push? Does the small edge justify it? I'm aware that I need to put my money in as a 60/40 favorite; I'm roughly a 54/46 favorite here.

I understand I'm not yet under tremendous pressure to make a move, so I also see the merits of folding this.

Thanks in advance!

This is his first raise in 30 hands - what makes you "inclined to believe you'l be racing"?...

The size of his raise (6xBB) led me to believe that he'd be content with taking the pot without a fight. Since there are more overcards combos than pairs, I liked the chances that I'd end up racing.

I think you're right. At best, my push is probably even money in the long run, given this situation.

I think I fold here most of the time. UTG has basically pot committed himself in early position, so he is baiting for a call. He wants to bet enough that if the larger stacks have speculative hands, they don't get a cheap peek at the flop. It's too easy to just wait for a better spot than this situation.

Fold. At best you are a slight favourite, but not often enough to justify this.

Given the facts in the first post I like the shove much.

A 70/0 opponent limps, that means nothing, he could have folded for all I care. Now theres more chips in the pot tho. Your M is less than 10, and its essentially folded to you and you have pocket 7s. I shove.

I didnt even read the results but assume you busted since this was posted.

Shove and dont look back, oh well.

**EDIT: After I posted I read the rest of the responses, which all indicate to fold. Perhaps this is not a clear decision. I continue to dissent, but be aware that I am not a winning player, nor am I better than those that have responded to this point. Perhaps I need to look at this and rethink as well. Do we give any fold equity at all? or is this fish literally calling us with any cards? If we have no fold equity it probably is the fold as they have all suggested. I guess I thought this fish could fold.
