Default Home Game Question

I am running a tournament for a friend, and it will have this structure.

Starting Chips 60 and you can rebuy a max of 2 times in the first 90 mins for 60 chips again

I have guessed that the average will be one rebuy each so that there will be 3000 chips in play

We want the tournament to last 8 hours Max, but we don't want to use a timed structure, rather want to do something like this

Small Blind Big Blind Players Left In Av Chips per player Av Stack to BB
1 2 25 120 60
2 4 22 136 34
3 6 19 158 26
4 8 16 188 23
5 10 13 231 23
6 12 11 273 23
8 16 8 375 23
10 20 6 500 25
12 24 5 600 25
15 30 4 750 25
20 40 3 1,000 25
30 60 2 1,500 25

Would that work, or should I change it?

Monty

Why no timed blinds? If you change your mind you should check out homepokertourney.com.

Am I interpreting this correctly? Your blinds go up after X people are busted out?

If so, time can be really tough to manage. With 25BB in the average stack, you won't see any big pressure to force people to bust out

You could start with $100 in chips (10x $1, 8x $5, 5x $10) and 1/2 blinds. Move the levels up 2/4, 3/6, 4/8 and so on. See how that works.

It seems odd, I know but this is how some people play. I've played this at home games a few times before and I don't really like the method. When you use a timed structure, everything seems to run smooth and the blinds don't just go up randomly. I mean a person could bust out the first hand played, and then you'd have the blinds go up? I don't really agree with this method of play. I like to know when the blinds are going up.
