Default $4/180 - analyze villian\'s call

I'll save my thoughts/analsys for a little bit.

Thoughts?

Reads: VIllian limped like 2/3 or more of hands. qausi-Gold strategie typ of game.

me: I had been geneally tightish, but had shown a willingness to shove over limpers. I think the only one I showed down was 33. FWIW, I have no reason to think that anyone has switched up to limp/trapping me.

I disagree with the call, but am too lazy to do the math. Either way, I think I wouldn't mind it if you had 20k. 30k is simply too much.

Keeping in mind that this is a $4/180 villain is probaly thinking "I got Q-10 suited, that's a nice hand, and since hero raised so much he's probably stealing and doesn't want a call. Maybe he got a low PP, which I'm 50-50 against. If he got AK or something, I can still hit out, and even if I lose I'd still have about 30K. I'll call."

And that's giving him credit that he's beyond level 1 thinking of "I got two suited broadway cards. That's a nice hand, I'll call"

I wouldn't call here, but if he's not that strong of a player is not that horrible of a call. He' only a big dog against few hands, and he got a shot at knocking out a good player and give himself the chiplead.

More on ethe situation:

I think Villian was halfway decent, odd playing style aside.

I think he recognized me as a tough competitor for sure. He had tried to put his stack pressure on me for the last hour and I had come out on top in the end - most of my chips have come from him one way or another.

I like, if I'm Villain and can change gears. He's got your range cold and probably figures he's never worse than 2-1 here, and why not. He might occassionally run into a 3-1, but overall, he's doing ok against a push range from the SB. Limp, limp, shove-steal, oops, you had a hand I wasn't flipping, never mind, thank you, sir.

He's right, he takes an nice pot, eliminates a good TAG, has the CL, and his crappy image doesn't improve for beating AKo.

He loses, he's got a pushbot stack and is used to a wide range anyways, so he's not going to suddenly play suboptimally, and it's not a huge gear change for a PF LAP/postflop aggro.

Edit: With the caveat being Villain must recognize he's got the best or second-best postflop game at any table he's at, generally. And that is what PF hand charts can never teach.

Low buy-in players hate folding more than the devil himself. [/analysis]

o.k. I'm bumping this...

I don't know if people don't care 'cuz its a $4/180

or

I don't know if people found this to be a thinly veiled bad beat post

Its not.

I obviously thot his call was absolutely atrocious when I first saw his cards. (Not that I would be surprised by a bad call, obv.)

However, when I really took a look at it...I wondered if it was a spot hidden w/lots of EV.

I'm out of time now, but will provide my analysis in the morning.

Actually looking for a more indepth analysis than villian put into it - just for study's sake.
