Default TPGK vs TAG

Villain is a 25/14/2 over a few hundred hands. He seems decent, and I haven't observed anything out of line. Up until this hand, I always thought of him as fairly easy to deal with HU.

Limit: $5/$10
5 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
2 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises</font>, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5SB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">SB 3-bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5.5BB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (7.5BB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets</font>, Hero folds.
Uncalled bets: 1BB returned to SB.

Results:
Final pot: 7.5BB

Seems like a reasonable fold.

I guess it's ok. If you go by the "put him on a hand you beat and call" strategy, it's hard to really come up with anything...AT? I would make an -ev curiosity call, which is something I seldom advocate, but nobody ever donk/3bets with 2pair or set...if he did then good for him but if he played a draw like that then that's good to know too.

Well the bastard showed his damn hand anyways. Once we got to the river, I figured that if I was ahead on the flop/turn, hearts or JT just drew out on me.

There happened to be one draw that I never considered...

When someone donks the flop in this spot, I am taking 1 of 3 lines:

1) Call down
2) Call flop, raise turn
3) Call flop, call turn, raise river.

Since this guy looks like a decent/good player, I would probably raise the turn on that specific card becuz I think theres a good chance that he will read me as being showdown bound on this board If I call the turn which means he might be good enough not to bluff the river with a hand like JT or two hearts, which means raising the turn is the best way to get maximum value against those type of hands.

If I felt that my opponent would bluff the river with a missed draw, then I would probably call the turn and decide what I want to do on the river based on what card hit.

In general though, I think raising the flop in this spot is a bad play, but ive talked about this idea a million times on this website so im not gonna elaborate on that.

I also would call the river, but that doesnt mean its right. It would be one of those, "Hey its online, and I have top pair, I call!"

I used to raise the turn too, but they check draws on the turn more than you think. Plus a guy like this will call down a flop raise with a worst hand more often than on the turn. Not that a flop raise is the end-all be-all play, but I like to mix it up.
