Default JJ - value bet river?

Party Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $5/$10
9 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is UTG+1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]; J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img];
UTG raises, Hero 3-bets, 2 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]; 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]; 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]; (15.4SB, 5 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, Hero raises, MP3 calls, CO folds, BB calls, UTG calls.

Turn: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]; (11.7BB, 4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, MP3 calls, BB calls, UTG calls.

River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]; (15.7BB, 4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero ??

How should I play this? UTG probably wouldn't call with anything I beat. The 3 fishes will call if they have a pair, not with busted draws. If someone made a straight/flush I'm probably getting raised if I bet.

* grunch *

I'd bet/call cuz I'd think it would be unlikely for MP3, CO and BB to stick around after the flop raise to gutshot straights and backdoor flushes (even though they would have been getting 9:1, so I guess they coulda been). Anyone with a higher pair or two pairs probably woulda been showing some aggression by now. It's a large pot so you'll get callers, especially pair of 9's.

I don't play online, but from what I understand the play is better. So I would check it through with the multiple straight, 2 pair, and runner runner flush possibilities, unless you thought that you could bet/fold.

If you have an overpair, and you have led all the way, bet the river. Trying to figure out when you might not, will cost you money, brain cells, and energy all unnecessarily.

I see missed spades here. MAYBE someone got there with rr clubs, but doubtful since the flop was raised. UTG backed off here after his bet was raised on the flop. I suspect that if he had anything he would have continued betting on the turn. There are many possible hands here... I just think that betting the river is still correct. If you get raised by UTG I'm probably folding here. I put MP3 on big overcards and he missed. That's the only thing I can see him cold-calling 3 bets with. Nobody other than you has shown any aggression other than preflop. So b/c river against anyone other than UTG I guess. Any thoughts on my approach?

Bet because people will call with worse hands.
