Default Best big run game

I've played numerous table game, but I generally play pretty conservatively. I often see people hear tell stories of how they had a huge score and turned $100 into 1k or more playing table games.

So I am wondering, what game and strategy would you suggest to turn $100 into a good score. Risk of ruin is obviously high of course, but playing $5 a hand blackjack is no fun. So give me a game to play and a strategy, and also post any huge score stories you have had at the tables.

i don't really have any strategies bc i dont know if there really are any other than making really -ev bets and getting lucky to turn a little into a lot very quickly but heres a first hand story:

my friend from school and i went to casino for poker tourney which got sold out. friend wanted to play roulette, i was just watching. dude bought in for ~$200. He was throwing nickles everywhere on the felt, i was dead sober (this was 10 am on a weekday) and could discern no strategy. pretty soon he had doubled his money and i thought to myself wow i would totally dip now. he kept playing

after filling a couple racks he was now up to almost $1500 and tipping the dealer/waitresses $50 bucks a pop and buying the whole table drinks. I was just baffled. I was tellin him he should prolly leave at that point bc in my mind that is already a story and i really cant picture doing much better than finishing with 7x what he started with. he put 6 black chips in his pocket, triple what he started with and said he was leaving with at least tht and kept playing

of course within a half hour he was busting out those blacks one by one as he lost everything else. When he got back to his original 200 i said well that was a crazy ride and it was all free you could still leave even, but he "was due" so within a half hour of busting out his first black that he had put in his pocket he was busto.

it was really just nutty to watch. as such a super nit, i just couldnt even understand any of it. i see 9 chances to leave with at least his initial buyin that i would ahve taken.

if i was him i would have left (obviously it doesnt matter after #1 cuz i wouldnt have made it that far:
1. when i doubled to 400
2. when i tripled to 600
3. a few more times in here
4. when i hit 1k
5. when i hit 1k up, or 1200
6. when i hit 1k on the way down
7. when i hit 600 on the way down
8 when i hit 400 on the way down
9 when i hit 200 on the way down

3 card poker hitting a few straights and flush's while the dealer is qualifying can add up in a hurry. As usual so can your losses.

LIR hitting a full house can turn 5 bucks into a few hundred real quick (Rare )

The best game in my opinion would be craps. I am a wrong bettor but from experience if someone get's their hands on the dice for 20 min and you get your money in there and gamble you can make a HUGE score.

Sic-bo has payouts up to 180-1 I believe as usual there are good bets and Lots of bad ones getting lucky on a 5 dollar bet for 180-1 right off the bat will make your day

Pai Gow at the Riviera in vegas has a bonus (not fortune bonus) I believe that can score you a good penny

These are all bad longshots though but If you don't mind risk of ruin go for it.

Heh but you did say high risk of ruin so if I were you I'd start buying 15 and 20 spot keno tickets and see what happens

All methods of playing table games +EV that I know involve lots of the long-term and the grinding, so if you want a chance at a big score, you're going to have to be willing to play -EV "strategies" and be willing to consider your buy-in as a sunk cost that you didn't mind losing because you had a good time, should things not pan out for you.

Therefore, pick whatever game you think you will ENJOY the most. Do you like dice or things that spin more? Does holding your breath as the wheel spins, hoping for the small chance of a 36-1 payoff sound like your cup of tea? Or would you rather be putting down a quarter of your roll on a hand of blackjack so you could feel like a high roller?

If there isn't one specific game that stands out to you as more fun than the others, then one factor to think about is that you can play longer if you bet smaller, so in order to maximize the length of time you get to enjoy gambling before busting out, you may want to play a game with higher payouts (like roulette) where you don't have to "throw it all down" immediately if you want a realistic (note, "realistic" does NOT mean "probable") shot of a "big score."

In the end, just remember what your goal is here. You're looking for a big score, which makes you just like any other square gambler in Vegas. The casinos will love it (though they probably wish you defined "big score" with a couple more zeroes), and you're likely not to get it. You are going to be -EV. You may well have a great time, though, even if you busto, and $100 isn't necessarily that much to budget for a bit of excitement. Buy yourself some drinks, laugh it up, and have a blast. Good luck!

No question:

Baccarat. Catch a nice streak, press along the way and you can make some serious coin.

One of the best odds in the house, banker bet at 1.17%. Right up there with proper craps play.

Yea, I gotta go with optimal craps play. Bet on pass, full odds, come bets with full odds. You'll either leave in 10 minutes down $300, or you might be up $1000 in 30 minutes.

We're just talking about variance, right? (This isn't about EV.)

Hard to imagine roulette isn't the best bet, if you're going after variance. Does any game have a higher pay-out ratio than betting on 1 number in roulette?

Texas Hold em Challenge Bonus bet (Atlantic City)
Joker or Flag on the Money Wheel
Actually most table games bonus bets would qualify for more than a 1 number in Roulette.

Actually my fav bet in any casino is the Clam Chowder Bet at the El Cortez.

First you sit down to the 1-3 stud table and order some Clam Chowder.

When it arrives you eat it......

If you survive the casino pays you 1,000,000 to 1
