Default The Limp Reraise Quantified + my SSNL Introduction

So first the brief introduction. I'm a full time programmer and part time poker player and am now playing SSNL as my main game. I have been a fairly big winner at Limit up to $5/$10 and NL SNG's up to $77's and am the author of Tourney Manager which is a tracking program used by a fairly large chunk of the STTF forum. I've been reading SSNL for some time and have read most of the important books and watch the Card Runner videos so hopefully I'll be able to contribute more to this forum in the future but right now I have a ton still to learn.

For now, I offer this. This data was gathered over 350K $200NL 6 Max hands in September on Party Poker and shows the breakdown of the 1874 hands that were limp reraised. Of course, this is highly player dependant but this overall view might be interesting to some of you.

The percentage is based on known hands - a lot of those Won Post Flop hands are likely to have been better quality hole cards so that 11.6% AA is likely a fair amount higher.

So, you're basically saying limp-reraisers are--on average-- full of crap.

I believe you limp reraise when you sure that someone will raise behind you, and that they'll call your reraise because they're loose. It gets more money into the pot preflop. Most people don't recommend ever limp reraising though, because it gives away your hand. For that reason, it would be smart to limp reraise with hands other than AA/KK/QQ (like suited connectors) against thinking LAGs who will put you on AA.

I am just getting into SSNL too, ive played a bit of NLcash but nothing that serious. i was also a SNG player, 12 tabling for a while.... you mention "the important books" ive read a ton of books, aside from the most recent sklansky book though (and that crappy esfandiari book) none of them seem to be very related to NL cash...

are there other books that people have read that they think are useful for NL cash??

thanks in advance
MC

Other recommended books for NL cash:
Harrington on Holdem (especially vol I)
Phil Gordan's Little green book.
Pot Limit and No Limit Poker - Reuben & Ciaffone

Well not totally true but I am surprised that some people frequently will limp-reraise with weak hands. One of two reasons I see 1) They realize people will put them on a top quality hand and they will take a reasonably big pot down without showing pre or post flop about 1/3 of the time or 2) They like to gamboool

ValarMorghulis pretty much listed them - I haven't read Ciaffone's book. Super System is probably worth adding to the list although probably take it with a grain of salt for SSNL.
