Wynn drills Picasso : \"Thank goodness it was me.\"
[ QUOTE ]
Steve Wynn was showing Picasso's painting Le Reve (The Dream) to guests at his office in Las Vegas last month. Mr Wynn, who has retinitis pigmentosa, an eye disease affecting peripheral vision, tore a coin-sized hole into the painting. . He will now keep the painting, which he bought in 1997 for $48.4m, and repair it, his spokeswoman said. . Mr Wynn had finalised the sale of the 1932 painting to art collector Steven Cohen. The $139m price tag would have been $4m higher than the previous private-sale record. link [/ QUOTE ] Ouch. |

Re: Wynn drills Picasso : \"Thank goodness it was me.\"
I read something about this before, and I was wondering what kind of security system that guy must have in his office. No alarm went off when he punctured that painting? I would think that a painting that can be sold for $139 million would have some sort of security devices attached to it, but I might have seen too many movies about crafty art thieves. Maybe he flips a switch to turn alarms off when he's in his office, I don't know.

Wynn can't see so well. He thought it was Sheldon Adelson's eye.
