Default Help Me Build An Album Collection Part 1

So here's the deal. I've been feeling lately as though my album collection is greatly lacking, and I would like to fix this by expanding with the help of OOT recommendations. The way I plan on doing this may seem odd, but its my plan so what the heck. What I want to do is expand by 1 letter of the alphabet at a time. What this means is first I'll do all albums I want to get by bands beginning with the letter A, then B, then C, etc.

So to start it out, I'd like to take recommendations on albums I should get by bands beginning with the letter A. If you could include along with your recommendation, some information about the album, such as genre of music or a short review that would be awesome.

To start things out, here's a list of albums I currently have by bands (or individuals) beginning with the letter A. Note: for individuals we'll go with if their first name begins with A.

A.C. Newman - The Slow Wonder(2004)
Aerosmith - Aerosmith (1973)
Alice in Chains - Facelift (1990)
The Arcade Fire - Funeral (2004)
Architecture in Helsinki - Fingers Crossed (2004)
Architecture in Helsinki - In Case We Die (2005)
Audioslave - Audioslave (2002)
Audioslave - Out of Exile (2005)
Avenged Sevenfold - City of Evil (2005)

As you can see, pretty limited. So lets hear what else I need to get.

ME,

Do you only want bands you can listen to in your hipster shirts and talk about at Starbucks, or all good music?

excellent idea MEbenhoe,

As for A I dont have too much great stuff, only thing missing from your list I listen to on any sort of regular basis is Archers of Loaf. icky Mettle seems to be consensus best album and a good place to start.

Looking forward to all these threads.
