Live 1-2 NL hand at local club.
ok
Its been 6-10 hands since I have sat down at a local club with my buy in of 200$. Between a few blinds and a few PF raises I have called I have a stack of about 180ish.. Then this dazzler comes along.. I'm in the SB and get dealt 5s5d. Folds to CO whos sitting with about 100-125 who just calls the BB.. I call the BB and BB checks.. Flop = Qh Jd 5c... sexy time... I check to the BB, a very aggro kinda fella.. Who checks behind... hm.. mistake? There is no flush draw, so I see no reason to try to protect my hand at THIS moment, perhaps I should've bet and tried to build a pot? Throw it down for the goose? anyway.. CO also checks.. [censored].. I was hoping for a bet, I done should've thrown one out myself.. I'm fu*ked, right? Oh well, here comes the turn.. The pretty bit of a dealer flips over the turn with a snap, boom, 9 of diamonds.. seems safe, I think.. I bet out 10 into the 6$ pot, go figure, go ride a horse, do whatever.. BB re-raises me to 30. 30?... CO calls.. CO calls? hmm.. what the hell is this? [censored] it, i'm down for it, lets see it. so pot is 76 and its action to me, with bottom set, an iPod with low battery, and a burnin need to ask, Hero?? |

Re: Live 1-2 NL hand at local club.
Call. You're getting nearly 4:1 with 10 outs to a full house. KT or T8 probably just outdrew you, but hey - if you will give free cards on a drawy board... There's always the hope that AJ thinks your turn overbet was a bluff and J9 thinks he has you both beat. Check/call a non-board-pairing river.
Don't check the flop with a hand like this. You want them to put money in while they're behind, not when they're ahead. |

They have a two pair type hand here often enough. Shove it.
