How should this hand have been played?

Re: JJ. First hand in 10$ SNG facing a turn push.
A preflop raise to 300 is an option for a few reasons:
1. It's a good possibility that you have the best hand and raise for value. 2. You want to get HU with SB since you have position on him (or maybe take down the pot preflop). 3. It helps define the situation better and makes postflop play easier. As played and with no read on SB....it's a very difficult decision. I would lean towards folding since I don't like risking my entire stack early in a tournament.... |

But I just flatcalled because I wanted pot control. If we reraise to 300, our plan I guess is to fold to a push right? But what if we reraise to 300, get called. And an overcard comes on the flop?

I push flop. QKA/club is pretty bad and could kill your action against a weaker hand.

Re: JJ. First hand in 10$ SNG facing a turn push.
At an $11 this is fine. I don't like re-raising PF at all, only with QQ+ for me. Flat call is fine. Turn is a bit meh, you could find arguements for folding and calling IMO. But at an $11, don's like to do this with lots of pairs you beat and even missed highcards for the call to be fine IMO.
Oh yeah sorry, forgot to mention flop action, yeah I'd re-raise that too. Pushing seems OK. |

I think in this situation...where button showed weakness, an SB raise could very well be a steal. If preflop raise came from a player with position...I agree with just calling preflop.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes...I'd fold to a push. Regarding postflop play if an overcard falls....see my post a few down...lol |
