1/2 5-handed with lagerborg
I've been pretty tight. 20 hands in. Never played with him before. He has seemed tight too. We haven't played any hands together. The only hand he has seen me showdown it J9 on a T87 flop sb vs bb where I raise/capped the flop.
I open AJs UTG, lager 3-bets next, folded around and I call. Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I c/r and cap. Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I bet and he calls. River: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check. He bets. I feel as if I'm on my A-game and fold.

What if he has something like 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or KJ? I mean this fold looks very bad. There are a lot of hands that he can bluff or even (think that he can) value bet here given the pot size. I thought Lager played LAG style (?)

I'd just showdown but yeah, folding is probably fine. You don't beat anything played well and he has been playing well.

I think its a good fold. Good discipline though, its pretty easy to just think 'ugh, terrible card no value, lets check, hmm he bet, oh well big pot w 2 pair lets showdown'

a bet with either KJ or 9Ts would be pretty horrible imo and from what I understand this guy is a good player. Even AT would be a bad bet imo. Also 9Ts should obviously be weighted down a good bit because he 3bet preflop.

When Lagerborg is playing well, he's playing very well.
