Default Moving out of the US

Has anyone considered moving away from the US due to this new legislation. I thought about Canada, not too far from it physically. I think if I moved it would be due to a culmination of BS that is going on with this gambling legislation breaking the camel back.

People do it all the time, of course when they return for a visit they are forced to pay all the back taxes they owe plus penalties, interest and oh yes, let's not forget the potential felony conviction for fleeing the USA in order to avoid paying taxes.

I dont see how this country could pull tax evasion if you are moving because you disagree with the state of the union and the direction the country is headed. Not to mention, if I leave, I'm not coming back.

I'm curious if you have to pay taxes on an action that they consider illegal that is performed outside the US? I'm assuming so, but don't know in fact.

If you moved outside the US you could pay taxes on your gambling like you would do if you could play in the states and still visit without an issue, I would think. So moving outside the US to play doesn't mean never coming back.

It'd still be nice living somewhere that you don't have to weasel around to do something that should be within your right in the 1st place.

There are more reasons than just to play poker that could feasibly make one want to move out of the United States in this day and age. Frankly, the only reason I'm still in America is because I choose to stay and fight.

No way I'm leaving the country that my ancestors died for over poker. And I really love this game.

If you haven't noticed, this is no longer the country your ancestors died for.
