Default Stars Rakeback Equivalent With FPPs

I got an email today from Stars about letting you trade FPPs for a Cash Bonus (That has to be cleared).

Goldstar $285 Bonus for 25,000 FPP
Platinum Star $650 Bonus for 50,000 FPP
Supernova $1500 Bonus for 100,000 FPP

At a $55+5 SnG a Platinum Star gets 62.5 FPPs

That means you would have to play 800 $55+5s to get a $650 Bonus.

If I am doing the math right, you are spending $4000 (in tourney entry fees), to get back $650... 650/4000 = 16% Rakeback... I guess thats ok, but It could be better.

did the Supernova one as well:

At a $55+5 SnG a Supernova gets 87.5 FPPs

That means you have to play 1142 $55+5s to get the $1500 bonus

$1142x$5=$5710 in tourney entry fees, you get back $1500.
$1500/$5710 = 26% definiately a good amount

I just did the math for stars ring games. It varies for each level and whether it's 6max or full ring.

Assuming 1 FPP = $0.015

Here's what I got for FULL RING:
(Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Supernova)

100nl FR 7.39% 11.09% 14.78% 18.48% 25.87%
200nl FR 8.79% 13.19% 17.59% 21.99% 30.78%

If you want other limits I'd need a database with a sizable number of hands. You can also do it yourself with some basic excel work.

May I just point out 800 $55 sit n goes does not equal $4000, it equals $40,000.

I think you may need to rethink the calculations!

800 $55+5 sit n goes equals $4000 in rake. $48000 in total entry, but we're just going for the amount of rake back.

yes fair enough. Still I dont see why anyone would ever play a cash game at stars. But if you like it there then why not. I think it is a good site.

Am I right in thinking that for mid-stakes NL on average you get about 1 FPP per hand? So qualifying as Platinum just takes one month of >10k hands??

Are there more calculatiions with these things somewhere else since there doesn't seem to be any interest in it?

Looking for info on how much value CGs give at different limits and CIP statuses.
