Default Most +EV Poker Game?

I started playing poker about 1 year ago, like most people with NL Holdem after watching it on TV a few times. NLHE is my main game, but lately I have been playing O/8 Limit and some HORSE and have been trying to improve my skills at those games.

My question is, in the long run, which game of poker would prove to be most profitable? (ie: which game has a more skillfull nature to it)

I would think HORSE would be, but with the limited volume of players it may be hard to profit considerably from that mix of games. My intent here is to focus most of my time on the game which my skill advantage after a considerable amount of work, will be highest over the other players, and hopefully that will lead to less variance overall.

PL stud hi/lo 8 or better where the low wins 55% of the pot.

or yea, also deep stack NL quadruple 7 card draw hi/lo where the high wins 61% of the pot IF the player holding the high hand is out of position else pot splits 50/50. also you need a rough 9 or better to open.

seriously the game that is maxEV is the game where you have the biggest advantage over the opposition. which is often just the game that you are best at. poker by its nature is zerosum, so what's maxEV for some is necessarily not maxEV for others.

NLHE will be your most +ev game. It is the game everyone wants to play right now (read lots of fish) and it also gives the expert a big advantage over bad players.

Hold 'em is definitely not the most +EV game.

I imagine most people in this thread will post the game they play in, so your answers will be biased.

In one of his books, Dan Harrington states that NLHE is the poker game in which experienced players have the greatest edge over beginners.

I wouldn't know though, I haven't played other poker games a lot, but obviously the edge of good players is rather great in NL Hold'em.

big bet poker (PL/HL) allows you to push equity edges in the best way.

Hi/Lo split poker the amount/magnitude of the errors are huge, finding players who drawing dead to 1/2 the pot isn't too out of the ordinary.

put em together, and you have the most profitable game with the least variance.

Hmm... because bankroll requirements are lower for split, there may be something in that. You can bet more optimally, essentially.
