Spot with JJ at 50 Max
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (4 handed) internettexasholdem.com
BB ($41.75) UTG ($58.75) Button ($12.45) Hero ($65.60) Preflop: Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Button calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2, BB calls $1.50, Button calls $1.50. Flop: ($6) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets $3.5, BB raises to $10, Button folds, Hero??? The villian is not a good player, but is very aggressive. My question is what is the best line here on the flop after he raises, and thus the rest of the hand depending on what cards come? |

Re: Spot with JJ at 50 Max
2.5 preflop, pot flop. Against a very aggressive player I probably call flop and c/r AI a safe turn.
PS. This is 50NL (max buy-in) and 6-max (number of seats). |

Re: Spot with JJ at 50 Max
Pretty tough spot, but I'm gonna say that your opponent is more than likely on a draw of some kind and I'm pushing over the top. I don't like a call here because it tells us nothing about our opponents hand, we are out of position, and more than half the deck makes us crap our pants on the turn. Calling a big raise only to fold on the turn is not a good game plan.
I think that the button is trying to test out his fold equity - your flop bet really was small - and I would kindly respond to his question with my stack directly in his face. Push > Fold >>>>>>>> Call |

Re: Spot with JJ at 50 Max
Preflop: Use 4x+1bb per limper for your PFR amount. Plus, you are in the blinds so you can add a BB as well.
Flop: $3.50?? HU Maybe I could see occasionally betting that. 3-way, bet closer to pot. Handling the raise: Either fold it (which I wouldn't do) or push it (which I would probably do). |

Turn: ($26) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, BB checks. River: ($26) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $11, BB raises to $29.75, Hero folds. Final Pot: $66.75 So I called the flop bet planning to CR turn on safe turn card. That backfired and then I bet on the riv. I played this hand pretty badly, and after thinking about it more I should have reraised the flop, and also raised more pre and bet more on the flop. |
