Default NL50 flop top set vs huge Weak calling station

Villian is 65.5/0/.75 over a very small sample size (around 100) but this is my 5th hand at this table and he has been in every pot.

What is your play on the river?

The chat that followed this was classic.

Definitely raise more preflop. $3.5 should do the trick, standard is 4xBB + 1BB/Caller.

Pot the flop, especially with 2 to a suit in a multiway hand. Players (especially calling stations, or so it seems,) love to chase flushes.

Turn action's great!

As for the river, I probably make a prolonged stream of curses and fold. Two ways to a straight and a possible flush on the board make this an unfortunate end to the hand.

Opponent is far too passive to be making a play here. Fold the river.

Now that I look back, I 100% should have raised more preflop and bet pot on the flop even though villian most likely still would have called.

There was a prolonged stream alright. After the stream, villian decides to type "Put me on the flush? I had 6 j offsuit, that's how you steal pots everyone"

He's lying. He just wants you to call the next time he has a made hand and bets. His play screams a draw, what else could he have?

Yeah, exactly my thoughts although I didn't say that at the table. I wanted him to think I was steaming.

What a damn [censored]. But in any case, never give villain credit for what he says he had unless he shows.

Anyway, your river fold was the right play given your reads. Just wait for your next monster. In future hands, betting into him on a draw may actually be the right play, now that you can somewhat safely assume you have implied odds against a "tricky" player like him.

Flop's good, pot the turn since it looks like he's drawing. He doesn't have the heart to bluff here, so gf.
