OT: Performify & Performity

Why do so many people refer to "PerformiFy" as "PerformiTy"? Is there any sort of ongoing joke about this that I should be aware of?

Yes, I realize that it's usually probably a typo or misread of his handle. But it happens so often by so many different people, without any correction, that I was wondering if there was something more that is going on there.

And for the typo people is it really that hard to identify? Yes, the "f" and the "t" look relatively close, but nowhere near identical. I've never seen someone call him "PerTormiTy" or "PerTormiFy" so it shouldn't be solely a misread.

And no, I have never made a post about a poster before, and think it's weird that I'm even making this one. But Perf is a solid mod and solid capper who gets referred to a lot here, and the constant error without correction was starting to bug me.

I swore that when I first came to the forum his name was Performity and was changed to Performify. I am almost positive, but I may also have been reading wrong.

I think 'performity' sounds more like a word than 'performify'

I mistyped it in one of my posts simply because that's how I read it

Its like Modify or Justify. Pronounced the same way... Perform + -ify.

Lots of people seem to mistake the last F for a T I guess.
But it is intersting how you point out that its never reversed, always -ity.

Really doesn't make much sense either way I guess, and certainly doesn't bother me when it happens.
I just quit correcting it.

* actually I used to post on here in the early days as "jedinite" but always signed my posts Performify (and posted my picks as "Performify's Pigskin Picks" still, etc. Craig did me the favor a while back of changing my name to Performify, to match my handle...

More like a nit thread. And as disclaimed in the OP, a stupid one, at that. Just wondering why people find it so hard to read, or if I was missing something. It's nothing like the stupid "tuq" or "tug" thing that he goes on about, when they're indistinguishable in the handle.
