Default Google Reader (RSS aggregator)

I've been using the latest version of Google Reader for the last few days and I think it's absolutely amazing. I've used RSS feeds for a while now (via Firefox's live bookmarks) but hadn't used RSS aggregators because I found them a bit clunky.

However, Google Reader's interface is now a breeze to use--it's basically an e-mail style inbox with constantly updating sources, which can be divided into groups. Browsing is simple (there are even keyboard shortcuts!), and it's a great way to keep up with the glut of information out there if you check out a bunch of frequently-updated sites on a regular basis.

Anyone else using it? What do you think?

Can you not add RSS feeds to your google/ig homepage already? In what way is this better? The ability to organize them better?

I think the Reader is much more functional in terms of keeping track of read/unread articles and organizing them into groups and whatnot. It's also a lot easier to quickly skim through headlines and choose (and open) articles to read (or tag, or share.)

Outlook 2007 does this too. And you don't have to be online to read downloaded feeds.

I was using Netvibes before the Google Reader update, used Bloglines before that. Google Reader is easily the best RSS reader I have used.

I like it. It's much better than the Firefox Live Bookmark thing.

Chris got kind of gay near the end of his presentation. My sphincter tensed up.

I've been using it for a long time and the new version is great. I think it is the best one I've tried.

Is there a stand-alone version of this anywhere? (As opposed to the webpage-based one, I mean.)
