I'm really not sure if both are in the same strength / invulnerability class here. But at level 4 SS, Goku has to at least be about the same. The ridiculous martial arts skills would play an important role for the win.

dude gokus power level is like measured in powers instead of numbers. he could totally cut a star in half, pull it apart and throw either piece to opposite sides of the galaxy, probably at his enemies.
