\"NLHE : A Complete Course\" by Largay
Anybody read through this one yet? Opinions? I'm getting tired of wasting money on SOME of the lit. out there.
http://www.amazon.com/No-Limit-Texas-Hol...TF8&s=books Can't say I've heard of the author, but I like to keep an open mind when evaluating poker books and articles. |

Re: \"NLHE : A Complete Course\" by Largay
I enjoyed his book. It's strengh for me was in his quiz sections covering basic NLHE play. My question is why does he call his book complete and in the book says he plans on writing other NLHE books? The book falls way short of "complete."

Re: \"NLHE : A Complete Course\" by Largay
FWIW, he (Angel Largay) told me that was NOT the title he had in mind when writing the book. He wanted it to be called something like....
Winning Low-Limit, No-Limit Hold'em. The publisher wanted the "Complete..." title. Best Wishes Howard |

Re: \"NLHE : A Complete Course\" by Largay
I played cards at a local card room with Angel Largay last night. He had a copy of his book with him. We were playing $2/$3 NL HE $300 max buy-in.
I asked what made his book different from the million other poker books that are available right now. His answer was pretty interesting. He said that his book is about capped buy-in No Limit Hold 'em, like the 2/3 NL $300 max game we were playing last night, and that the vast majority of books are for deep stack NL or Tournaments. The capped buy-in, in his opinion, changes some of the play enough to warrant a complete examination in a book of its own. He was a very nice person, so I'll probably buy a copy after I finish NLHETAP that I just ordered from 2+2. |

I recognise the name, but I'm not sure from where... [/ QUOTE ] I met him in all the private card rooms in Anchorage Alaska, as well as in a Southern California cardroom ( Oceans Eleven). He was a winning player at limit; I don't recall playing him in No limit. He can play chess blindfolded, if this makes up anyone's mind. |
