Default E-mail from Moveon.org

I asked them if they are looking into helping this is what I got:

Not too promising.. but intresting indeed.

Thank you for your input. We value all of our members' comments and
suggestions. All information coming to us, whether through email, surveys and
other member-driven communication, is shared with the staff on a regular
basis. We will pass your ideas along to the appropriate staff member.

Although I am not a poker player, I helped design the interface for an online
poker teaching tool. Time will tell if MoveOn takes a position on this issue.

I apologize about the delay in responding. The few support volunteers here
have been overwhelmed with hundreds of e-mails, many due to the over 1,500
movie parties booked in the past couple of days. To sign up to attend a movie
party, see:

http://pol.moveon.org/event/movieparty/

Thanks for all you do,
Phil, MoveOn Support Corps Volunteer

What an amusing bunch of twits.

Recent conversation around the dinner table: My 15 year old daughter ask “What’s the real difference between Republicans and Democrats.” Before I can answer my 18 year old son says he can handle the question. “Republicans are the party with stupid plans” (for the record I think he said “F-up” or something a little worse) the Democrats are the party with no plans at all.”

Yes I'm sure Poker is high on their list...

Haha, yes, becuase they will have to take polls to see what gets the higher approval rating and adjust accordingly. moveon.org makes me puke.

Behold the problem with sending liberal Democrats to do a Libertarian's work.

Democrats are for personal liberty -- sometimes. If they stick their finger in the air and feel the wind blowing toward personal liberty, maybe they'll support it.

They're useless as an opposition party, and the only good thing I can say about them is they haven't been wrecking our country for the past six years like Republicans.

Some of you may detest Moveon, but for those here who are members, emailing Moveon that you oppose the Gambling ban and feel it is an assault on your freedoms and a disturbing regulation of the internet takes a couple minutes. If they get enough they might take a position opposing it which can only help.

It has a better chance of helping than emailing House members ever did.

And the problem with sending Libertarians to do any sort of job is that 2% of the votes is never going to change anything. I guess if you guys want to slowly build a national party that will legalize online poker I'll be super ready to play in 50 years.

At this point ANY ally is a good thing.

I'm happy to have them as an ally, just suspicious of their long-term commitment to the cause. I'm not a member of MoveOn obviously but I agree that poker-playing members should contact them.

Two percent is a lot if the election finishes 50-48-2. Helping Democrats beat anti-liberty Republicans 50-48-2 is a perfectly valid short-term goal for a political party.

Of course in the medium term, I'd rather see a third-party coalition emerge to promote instant-runoff voting and other reforms so that elections really reflect public opinion rather than fear about "wasted votes".

The enemy of my enemy is not my friend. They are a co-belligerent, at best. Why don't you ask the commies for help while you are at it? How about France?

How are the French our enemy? They didn't ban online poker in the United States. In the case of something like online poker, if someone is willing to take your position for whatever reason they aren't an enemy. You might not like their political stance, but online poker isn't going to win Democrats any seats.

Political groups and parties shift focus all the time, and each one has problems with hangers on and corruption. (It wasn't too long ago I heard a number of libertarians grumbling about misappropriated party funds buying a certain candidate a pool.)
